Kich Pam Ha (Beautiful water in Maya)

Kich Pam Ha is a paid public picnic area just north of our place on Four Mile Lagoon. It costs $1 BZD per person which Felipe didn't want to collect from us. Felipe oversees the property and also lives there but it is owned by another Belizean fellow. The entire swimming area is very shallow and warm with a mixture of sand and mud but nice all the same. It's not the mushy bottom that squishes inbetween your toes. We spent the day there and met a very lovely family, Carlos, Angie and their 3 children. Angie cooks and serves food there but business is slow and most families that come bring their own food. We did however get to sample a plate of rice and peas, stewed pork and cole slaw. It was delicious!! That would cost $5 BZD which we had to force them to take since they just brought it to us without us ordering it. We ordered some food for tomorrow though so we're going back again. We gave them a lift home (in the back of the truck), and they piled in a bicycle, TV, along with the kids. They only live a short distance from our property. They invited us in and served us melon they grew themselves (it was sooo sweet). Angie is a very good cook, her rice and peas rivals Miss June's!! You have to try her out next time you pass by.

And of course, here is the progress on our property. Coming along wonderfully....now you can really start to imagine it all. Finally I can see the lagoon.
