"Scotiabank, the best bank in Belize"

This is how Gilberto Magana, the bank manager, answers the phone. So it could possibly be the best bank in Belize. I opened a chequing account with them and it was very easy. All you need are 2 letters of reference, a personal and business (plus 2 pieces of photo id). So now I have 2 accounts but will close the other at Atlantic Bank once my cheque clears which will be 40 business days! (and I was complaining about Canada holding a government cheque for 5 days). No real reason for changing banks other than I like Gilberto and I've been treated wonderfully so far.
